EXPLORER LAB! Discovery Passage Explorer is offering summer camps for the month of August.
There will be a different theme every day. New this year! Every Wednesday is French day. Every morning from 9:30-11:30 there will be a camp for ages 5-8 and each afternoon there will a camp for 8+ from 12:30-3pm.
Each camp will include a hands-on learning experience with live animals, games and crafts and a visit to the beach.
Programs will be changing throughout the summer so there’s always something new and exciting to learn.
Tuesdays (August 8, 15, 22) Intertidal Survival: Students will learn how intertidal species deal with the challenges of their changing environment, such as desiccation and limited space.
Les mercredis en français (9, 16, 23 août) Un thème différent chaque semaine!
Thursdays (August 3, 10, 17, 24) Whale Day: Students will learn about different whale species in British Columbia.
Fridays (August 4, 11, 18, 25) Environmental Stewards: Students will learn about the impact humans have had on our oceans and how to be environmentally conscious.
Cost: One session $25/ per child – Multiple sessions $20 each session/per child or $80 for the week/per child
Gear: We will be inside and outside as weather permits. Please ensure your child has weather and beach appropriate gear, including gumboots, jacket, hat and sunscreen.
Fuel: Be sure to pack an ample snack (nut-free please) and drinks.
