Are you a boater? Someone Interested in BC’s marine life? This presentation is for you.
Join us on September 23 for an encore presentation on Humpback Whales by Marine Education and Research Society (MERS) researcher Jackie Hildering. The event is at the Marine Heritage Centre, doors open at 6:30 PM, programProgram begins at 7:00 PM. Admission is by donation.
With the increased number of Humpbacks around Campbell River, we’re bringing Jackie back for this presentation that is as entertaining as is informative. It has become all the more necessary that there is greater awareness about how to avoid collision and what to do if entanglement is witnessed.
Jackie will also be sharing MERS’ latest research on Humpback feeding and rate of entanglement.
As an educator, avid diver and underwater photographer, Jackie is also known as “The Marine Detective” with recent on-camera experience including being featured on Animal Planet’s “Wild Obsession” series and in the BBC productions “New threat to Canada’s Pacific humpback whales?” and “Ingenious Animals”. It indeed promises to be as entertaining as it is informative!
