A whale breeching the icy waters of the Discovery Passage, coho fighting their way up the rapids of the Campbell River, the call of a toad echoing across McIver Lake. If you are a resident of Campbell River or the surrounding area, at least one of these vignettes is probably familiar. Nestled between the ocean and a network of rivers and lakes, Campbell River has built it’s identity on the surrounding aquatic ecosystems and species they support.
The Discovery Passage Aquarium is excited to present the Oceans, Rivers, & Lakes Film Screening! Join us for a night of films that explore the lives of animals found beneath our waters and celebrate the human connetion to our aquatic environment.
We will be showing four films by local creators:
Heartbeat of the River - Eiko Jones
Tadpoles: The Big Little Migration - Maxwel Hohn
It’s Time To Listen - Wild Bus Films
George Dyson: The Floating World - Baby Seal Films
Filmmakers will provide either in person or virtual introductions giving you exclusive insight into the making their films.
The event will take place Saturday, March 5, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the River City Players Theatre. Tickets are $10 and include entry into our raffle, where you can win prizes donated by local businesses!
