We are excited to offer BRAND NEW after school clubs at the Explorer Lab this fall! As this is our first time running after school programming, they are being offered at a discounted rate.
Below are the descriptions for both clubs. Once you have purchased a spot in a club, we will email you a registration form. Your spot will be secured once we have received the completed registration form back. Please include your email when booking so that we may send you the documents.
Ecosystem Engineers (Grades 2-4) - SOLD OUT
Tuesdays - November 8, 15, 22
In nature, ecosystem engineers are important organisms that modify, maintain, or create a habitat, such as beavers or kelp! In this club, we dive into how different ocean ecosystems function, the important characteristics of them, and even build a few habitats of our own! Your little biologists will learn what makes an ecosystem healthy, ways to keep our local oceans happy, and take home an ocean themed keepsake showcasing what they have learned.
Dates: Tuesdays, November 8, 15, 22.
Time: 3:30 - 5pm
Price: $40
Location: Explorer Lab
The intended age is grades 2-4. Please contact us if you wish to enroll children outside of this range.
Keystones of Campbell River (Grades 5-7)

A keystone species is an organism that has a disproportionately large effect on its ecosystem. Locally, this includes sea stars, salmon, orcas, and sea otters. These animals will be the focus of this club, by introducing their roles in the environment, demonstrating the scale of their impact, and running through games and hands-on activities to simulate our marine ecosystems around Campbell River.
Dates: Thursdays, November 10, 17, 24.
Time: 3:30 - 5pm
Price: $40
Location: Explorer Lab
The intended age is grades 5-7. Please contact us if you wish to enroll children outside of this range.
