While the Aquarium itself will not be open for another couple of months, the Discovery Passage Explorer Lab will be open to visitors on Wednesday, March 23rd & March 24th! This event will be by donation, with a recommended cash donation of $3-5.00 per person. (Donations will be accepted at the door)
The Explorer Lab is the learning space where we host events, school programs, & summer camps. In addition to a full size classroom, we also have a series of aquarium exhibits in the wet lab, featuring many smaller species from the aquarium (and at least one species you have never seen before!!)
In addition to the opportunity to watch and learn more about the animals in our wet lab, we have the following activities available:
A microscope station will be set up where we can look at some small animals under the microscope, blown up onto a big screen TV
A touch tank will be set up in the classroom
Crafts will be available
Many interesting sea shells, bones, and preserved specimens to explore!
Through the Explorer Lab, we are able to host a variety of events, including birthday parties, summer camps, and workshops! This is a great opportunity to learn more about the services we offer through this dynamic ocean-themed space!
