This program introduces students to taxonomic classification and species identification using dichotomous keys. Through direct interaction with live and preserved local marine invertebrate, including echinoderms, molluscs, and crustaceans, students will explore biodiversity, learn key features of animal groups, and practice scientific drawing. Rotating through five interactive stations, learners will engage in careful observation and apply critical thinking to identify species, while reflecting on biological diversity and adaptation.

This program directly supports BC Science curriculum goals around natural selection, survival needs, and scientific inquiry in a fun and memorable way.

Want us to come to you? We can bring a modified version of What am I? to your classroom. For in-class delivery, we will supply all materials, and engage students in a bonus ocean-related game.

Duration: 90 minutes

Cost: $60.00 (or $70.00 for in-class delivery, plus mileage to and from the program)
