The Discovery Passage Aquarium hosts monthly beach clean ups around Campbell River. We tackle a different stretch of shoreline every month in an effort to clean all 12km of beach each year!
Meeting locations will be listed below, and the aquarium will supply buckets, garbage bags, gloves, and tongs (limited supply) to participants. We just ask that you wear closed toed shoes, even in the summer, and dress for the ever-changing Campbell River weather.
All locations will have free parking available, with reasonable access to the beach. Navigation over some driftwood or rocks may be required.
If you are interested in joining a beach clean, please RSVP via email, the contact box below, or on Facebook/Instagram. When expressing your interest, please include your name, how many in your group, and the date for the beach clean, as we often have various events planned at once.
If you have any questions about the clean ups, please reach out to our Stewardship Coordinator at shawna@discoverypassageaquarium.ca
SCHEDULE:
February 12th at 3:30PM - meeting outside FoggDukkers
Future shoreline cleanups are paused for now, email info@discoverypassageaquarium.ca to be added to the email list for event notifications.
