Due to staff shortages, we are unable to offer 2024 spring break camps

Information about 2023 camps is below:

2023 SUMMER CAMPS ARE HERE! Below are the descriptions for each week, and a PDF of the weekly schedule can be found by clicking each date. 

July 10th - 14th: Junior Scientists $200 - waitlist being taken

For grades K-2. We will introduce many different marine science topics in kid friendly ways, including crafts, hands-on experiments, outdoor exploration, and story time! This week features a trip to the aquarium, Centennial Pool, the local beach, docks, and the pier for ice cream. Kids will learn all about our local marine life, and how to be responsible beachcombers! 

July 17th - 21st: Gr. K-4 Ocean Science Week $200 

For grades 2-4. We have a whole line up of exciting ocean projects and experiments this week, as well as a lot of fun! This week's activities include visiting Centennial Pool, the pier, the beach, and the docks, as well as learning about microscopes, plankton, local animals, and more! 

July 24th - 28th: Whale Watchers $275 - waitlist being taken

For grades 3-6. We are partnering with Campbell River Whale Watching, and offering a 3-hour whale watching tour on a zodiac boat this week! Other activities of the week include visiting the aquarium, using microscopes to look at plankton, and learning about local, deep-sea, and historic sea animals! 

Please note, this week has a slight price increase, and pick up on Tuesday will be from Campbell River Whale Watching - not the Explorer Lab. 

July 31st - August 4th: Low Tide Explorers $200 - 1 spot left!

For grades 3-6. Some of the lowest tides of the summer are happening this week, and we will be taking the city bus to Willow Point Reef for a full day of incredible low tide exploration! Other activities include a beach seine to catch fish for the aquarium, looking at plankton under microscopes, eating ice cream on the pier, and going to Centennial Pool to cool off on Friday! Each day we will try out a new scientific tool! 

August 8th - 11th: Junior Scientists $160 - waitlist being taken

For grades K-2. This shortened week features the best parts of all the other weeks! We will be looking at plankton, going on beach scavenger hunts at low tide, visiting the aquarium and centennial pool, and of course having ice cream on the pier! The price is reduced to reflect the 4 day week. 

August 14th - 18th: Whale Watchers $275 - waitlist being taken

Age groups are based on the grade your child is currently in this spring. If you wish to register your child slightly outside of the listed range please contact us first.
