Campbell River Ocean Week 2023
Here at the Discovery Passage Aquarium, we love the ocean, and want to celebrate with the community for a whole week! World Ocean Day is June 8th, and Campbell River Ocean Week will be taking place around that, from June 4th - 10th.
We are joining forces with the Maritime Heritage Centre and putting together various events around town. The schedule can be found below, or on the event facebook page.
Sunday June 4th
- Loop Day at the Pier! Join the festivities of Loop Day, and stop by the Explorer Lab for crafts, colouring pages, touch tanks and more! We will be open from 11am - 4pm, to keep your little ones occupied while you enjoy a refreshing beverage in the garden.
Monday June 5th
- Sea School Drop In, at the Explorer Lab & MHC, 3 - 5pm
- This is a free event for children of all ages
Tuesday June 6th
- Willow Point Reef Citizen Science, with DPAS, 1 - 2:30pm
- Join us at Jaycee Park for a mix of a sea star survey and interpretive walk on the reef
Wednesday June 7th
- Willow Point Reef Interpretive Walk, with DPAS, 1 - 2:30pm
- Similar to Tuesday's events, join us for an interpretive walk on the reef. Meeting at Jaycee Park.
Thursday June 8th
- Free admission to the Maritime Heritage Centre all day!
- 50% off admission to the aquarium all day!
- Sea School Drop In, at the Explorer Lab & MHC, 3 - 5pm - with special guests from Ocean Networks Canada!
- This is a free event for children of all ages
- Where The Wind Meets The Tide, Season 2 Premier, at the MHC, 7 - 9:30pm. Tickets available here.
Friday June 9th
- Beach Clean Up at Larwood Park, 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

- “Wade in the Water” - a choral performance with the Quarantones, at the MHC, 7pm. Tickets are available here.
